I am going to make a trip out to a town 4 hrs away for an auto-x this weekend and wanted to put the silencer in so I don't have a pounding headache by the time I get there.

My question is if the silencer (which decreases the opening for the exhaust gases to escape) will effect my a/f ratios in a negative way since the engine can't "breath" as freely?? I know when to put a better exhaust or intake on your car its suggested that the battery be unplugged for the computer to "reset" itself to the new stuff. I have a obd 1 (1992 prelude) so I'm not sure if my car is effected by this or not??

I'll be taking the silencer out when I get there and don't want the engine to run crappy.

 

It will change your a/f slightly, but nothing to be concerned about.
