Annoying seat-belt-reminder beep
I was wondering if any of you guys know how to disable that annoying beep that (supposedly) reminds you to bucket your seat belt? I bet it's just a small plastic box wired up under the dash somewhere. Is there a fuse specifically for this alert?
Or will I have to cut a wire?
Thanks.

Well, I thought it was pretty obvious that I wanted it off because I didn't NEED stupid beeps to remind me to strap in. (Honestly, I don't even feel comfortable in the driver seat without the constant pressure from the seat belt holding me in place.)
So, again, I repeat the question. Does anyone know how to disable that annoying beep?

Oh well you said seat belt reminder.... not the door ajar reminder.... i dont know how to get rid of the door open beep...but if you have the door open and you want to listen to the radio withought the beeping i just put the key in and turn it all the way right befor it starts i dunno which setting it is.. its the last click befor you start the car... the lights will turn on in the dash.. just turn it to that it'll give a couple long beeps and then the beep sound will stop
As for the door ajar alarm, I don't know how to stop it. One day I noticed mine had stopped dinging. No idea why.
Sounds like Dj141zns's door ajar alarm went out too. Because that second to last notch turns on the power to all the electrical systems (but not the engine, of course). And that is exactly when it "should" be doing it.
I love that it's stop though. I suppose that's why I am annoyed by the seat belt reminder. It's the only beeping my car does.
And, yes, it only beeps when the belt is off. But I always put in on before moving. It's just annoying thats all.

Maybe your door switch (or whatever it's called) went bad. I'm refering to the switch that it located in the door jam and is covered by a rubber boot. It also turns on your interior light when you open the door (unless of course you have a switch for it and it's turned off).

Nope. If you turn the key one click forward with the door open the peeping with sound, but if you turn it one more one (the "on" position) the peeping will sounds twice or something then stop.

This came up a month or two ago.
If I remember right... there is a wire connected to where the seatbelt snaps in or this wire connects to the bottom of the seat. If you disconnect it (I don't think thre's any cutting involved), the seatbelt reminder will stop. You might want to do a search for that thread, I don't remember the details exactly, like I said it's been a month or two and this isn't something I would do (since my '99 doesn't have a beeping sound if I don't have my seatbelt on right away).

WARNING!
To people reading this forum... disconnecting cables from under the seat can be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS unless you know for sure what you are doing.
Modern airbags turn on/off and change the force they are released with depending on the detected weight of the passenger. By randomly unplugging cables from the seat you may INADVERTENTLY PERMENANTLY DISABLE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG.
Just thought I should mention that. Thanks.
