Default bending firewall....

i wrecked my teggy about six months ago. the only thing i have left to get her back on the road is straightening the firewall on the drivers side, where the fender attaches. does anyone have any knowledge on how to do this? thanks in advance.

Get a come along and attach it to something beefy like a tree or something that sould be able to pull it out. If you had a picture it would be easier to give advice but you can try that

Exactly....thats all body shops use....if they even think its worth straightening. Of course they use something a little more high-tech than a big tree in there back lot but its all the same process. Just go VERY slowly....keep people back away from the come-a-long in case of failure and dont pull it out to far! If you go to far then have to push it back in...that process of going in and out is going to fatigue the metal more than it already is. GOOD LUCK!

DO NOT HEAT IT UP. Just yank on it. You will be surprised at how little effort it takes with a come-a-long to straighten it. Shouldnt take you much time either! Have fun and good luck!

P.S. Whereever you attach the come-a-long, if you use bolts holes or something that you will need later on...make sure they are big enough to support the loads you will exert on them. Thats all you want to do....straighten the firewall then rip a big hole out of it because you didnt use something big enough. Again, GOOD LUCK!
