Default I don't know how to use an impact driver

Ok, yeah I think I'm dumb.
For some stupid reason my non-numatic impact driver isn't workin for me.
I think I'm using it right.
When I pound it with the end of the hammer, the bit doesn't turn.
The screws Im tryin to impact off are the ones in the hub to change the rotors.
Any ideas?
I am pushing the driver down and hitting it, and yes I know how to change/reverse the driver position.

You have to use a BIG hammer and hit it pretty hard. Try at least a 5lbs baby sledge hammer and all will be good.

you have to turn the body of the driver while you are hitting it. turn the way you want it to go

yea if you play with it you will see that is turns either way..put the eend into the screw and turn the end of the impact driver towards loosen or to the left then hit it..your gonna have to hit it hard and a few times before it does anything..your using the impact of the blow to break it loose while at the same time your trying to loosen the screw..you can also try tightening it a little to break it loose..this usually works

no grab the body of the driover, where the knurling (grip) is on it, and turn left while u hit to loosen, and right while u hit to tighten

I've NEVER turned an impact driver while hitting it. Always work just fine for me.

maybe you uncontiously do as you hold it, or maybe yours is super cool, lol. but they are made to loosen and tighten, hence the need to turn. unless you have a sh*ty one-way one???

So as I rotate my wrist to loosen I also keep banging on the end as I turn?

Yea tell me about it...I almost feel sorry for them.
But my friend also said you do NOT have to turn it.
I tried everything I've never seen this thing budge.
I might consider the fact that those screws have never been removed...5years old pretty rusted, maybe it just can't torque it.

I had to use one on mine. worked like a charm.. you jsut have to hit it *really* hard.

and jsut a thoguht, but why would you use an impact driver to tigthen something? seems like you'd overtighten everything with it..
