Well the first time it came off I found it on the powersteering pump but this time its gone. I torqued it on pretty good last time so I duno what happened. Anyone know where I can get another one of these things? The leaking wastegate sounds so horrible I hate driving, sounds like my car is about to die and just barely making it around.

 

Which bolt on the wastegate?

 

M8 1.25 X 20mm

you need to find somebody who sells metric bolts. I know a guy here in S. Fla but that wont you help much

Actually I forgot there are the ones that hold the dump tube to the wastegate too

 

Why did the bolt come off? My bolts came loose all the time when the ring on the wastegate wasn't seated right therefore causing a major leak.

 

home depot sucks for metric bolts! at least the one i went to around here had a WHOLE wall of those damn stupid american sizes and a stupid drawer of metric stuff!

oh ... and when u get the bolt again... put some loctite on there... its not like u take that thing off everyday

Also, with the wastegate bolt off, did your car sound like a LAWNMOWER? Haha.

Also it causes for the turbo to spool up slow.

 

Yes my car sounds like a lawn mower yes it spools up slow and yes it sucks very much.

 

tom you are so right the one over here is the same way. i tried 3 differnt home depots and i couldnt find the one i was looking for so then i just pulled off the exhaust manifold and wastegate and brought them to homedepot with me and a wrench and went to work, then needless to say one of them fell off so i used a little blue thread loc and never had a problem since...but then again the cars not running now anyway so lol i dunno
