How does mileage get turned back on a digital odometer?
Does anyone have any idea how mileage is turned back on a digital odometer? Or would replacing the instrument panel be the best bet?
Buddy of mine is swapping a v6 into a use to be 4cyc.
Thanks
btw, i've been a member with this board before, no need for the rookie comments.

thats a no-no and against the law .................and why would you want to turn back mileage for replacing the engine???
it its the same generation of car wouldnt the guages be the same? if so just install the gauge that came from the v6
I realize its against the law, just trying to match the mileage against the engine.
Someone already bought the gauge cluster from the V6. I'm sure they are all interchangeable, just like everyother honda part.

well since he is talking about digital odometers i would assume that he is referring to the 98-02...which in 4cyl models came with F23 variants...

I know i had a chevy blazer with a ditial dash and they would sometimes go bad. There was a guy who fixed them and you could send yours to him and have him fix it or give you a fixed used one. To keep your milage right all he had to do was switch a chip from one cluster to the other. I dont know if that can be done here but its an idea.
