I picked these up for nothing (literally) Theyre Modex (I think) or is it Nodex??? I have never seen them before. I was thinking of putting them on my ITR, but theyre a +38 offset and so may scrub on the arches. I need to get tyres first though as the ones on them are in poor shape. I had a look on the Modex site but didnt see them as theyre possibly old school wheels. The date stamp on them says 96. theyre a strange stud fitment, 4x114.3 AND 5x114.3. I weighed one and its 16lb so not exactly light weight either!

That lawn mower is 29 years old and still starts first pull of the cord each summer
I'll get some tyres and put the wheels on the car and then decide if i like them, i can keep them as winter wheels and get a set of el cheapo snow/rain tyres for them if need be!

if you look at the side carefully, you can make out the retro blowoff valve attached to the side. that sucker must be turboed.

Is it just me...or does it look like someone "drilled" some extra holes to make it fit???
If its these exact rims as pictured...I'd say hell no and buy the ones that WILL fit without any extra "fabrication"

Many wheel manufacturers provide eight or nine holes so one casting will fit two diferent wheel stud layouts.

I just mowed a friends lawn yesterday: 1 acre with a push mower = cannot type for **** this morning + blisters.
If a manufactuar uses several different stud holes to fit multipul wheels, are they generally that close to one another? Seems like the metal seperating the holes from one-another is quite thin. I'd like to see a closer picture of that...
Interested in who made these wheels and how much they are worth...?

Manufacturer.. Hey, what happened to your sig?
Just kidding.
Yeah, I've never seen a 4x and 5x drilled on the same wheel, just 5x100 and 5x114.3. In that case the holes are evenly distributed.

The 5x114.3 holes do look like they were drilled as an afterthought as theyre not evenly spaced but each wheel is identical and if it was an aftersales modification it was very well done as each hole has a smooth lip like the 4x114.3 holes and it doesnt look like they were then painted on the inner lip of each hole.
For all you lawnmower admirers, the small mountfield mower is for the small front garden and around trees/shrubs, but i have this for my 3/4 acre back garden

Theyre a japanese wheel made by a company which i believe is now defunct called Himodex. value...i have no idea, i got them for nothing
They were originally on a 4th gen prelude (4x114.3) and you can see the 4 stud fitment holes have paint chipped off from around the hole, but the 5 stud holes are clean and look like they have never had bolts/nuts in them.

I'm having an impossible time finding reasonably priced 215/45/16 tyres, i'm not even looking for a performance tyre although 99% of them made in that size will be performance orientated. I can get 225/45/16's for next to nothing (kumho's) and 195/50/16 continentals for silly money but i think these'd be too narrow on a 7" rim. 205/50/16's are also dirt cheap but too high a profile and i'd have to raise the car to run them and after getting it corner weighted for the current rims and set up, i'm not keen on doing that.
I'll try some of the part worn places tomorrow and see what they have in stock
