idleing problem

when ever my 88 prelude idles in park the engine revs on its own it goes up and down from a little under 1000 rpm all the way up to 2500 rpm anyone know what it is and how to fix it or what to replace ?

Hi there, It could be that your engine is geting too hot so check your rad is topped up and coolant is flowing round the engine. Hope this helps
