I just put on my Kosei K1's. I have some questions?
I just put on my Kosei K1's wrapped in Khumo 712's. The rear wheels seem to come really close to the trailing arm. Like within a millimeter. Around corners, the rear wheels scrape on it. Do I need to order spacers to prevent this? If so, what brand, and what company should I order them from?
thanks,
aj

also,
did anybody else have this problem with these wheels with an altered suspension. Remember, it seems to be the wheels, not the tires. Do you think it would go away if I raised the suspension a little bit?
thanks in advance,

by doing a search (a little late), I have decided that I need a 5 mm spacer for the rear.
Does anybody know where I can get one. Can I go to sears or autozone to get one?

you can get cheapo generic spacers from autozone and the like for about 5 bux ea. Then there's the g00d chit - H&R spacers which are car specific....~60 pair.
I had to get a 5mm spacer for a 225/50-15 to clear my rear upper control arm. Problem was, I couldn't get a safe number of threads onto the stock wheel studs. My buddies and I put on some long (3"?) Skunk2 wheel studs, and man those are a PITA to install. There's never a 5 lb sledge hammer around when we need one.
Also, buying a wheel with a larger offset places the rim further out from the hub. I'm looking for a 15x7 wheel with a .35 (I think?) offset so I won't need to use the spacers.

I got universal "made in China" 5mm spacers from Radial Tire in Silver Spring MD. 9 bucks apiece. Saw Eric Kreimelmeyer and his 2.5 RS there yesterday.

Actually, the offset is smaller (numerically). A zero offset would put the centerline of the wheel at the centerline of the hub, and the rim would stick out alot... and the offset is usually measured in mm (usually).

I always heard it the smaller the number, the larger the offset, so just end up saying "larger offset."
Yup, smaller numbers mean your wheel's rim will sit out further from the hub compared to a wheel with a higher number offset.
I'm looking for a .38, .45 rubs. TE37s I'm thinking

I just bought some generic 5 mm spacers from Pep Boys. It's better but grinds just a tad when I take a turn really hard. I am going to grind some of the trailing arm away.
I will also get the H & R spacers. I believe that they are a little better quality and vehicle specific. I also think that I should get some longer wheel studs.
Is there a way that I can install them myself?
thanks for all the info guys,
aj
btw: sorry 4doorH22 about being the sixth guy in our area with these rims!

I just looked at H&R's website. It seems that they don't make wheel spacers for Honda. Oh well, I guess the ones from pep boys will have to do.

http://www.kingmotorsports.com sells H&R spacers.
You got the 45mm offset didn't you?
You need the 38mm offset. It won't rub with a 205 tire and no spacer.
OPM sells 5mm custom, 4x100 hubcentric aluminum spacers for Integras/Civics/etc. I think they are $40 a set.
Aluminum is a good thing.

Anybody have these wheels with 225 tires on a CRX? I'm interested to know if they rub.
Also, do the wheels come in 15x8 size for the 4x100 bolt pattern (in an offset that will fit on a CRX)?

I have the K1's in 16's for street and 15's for Auto-x. I never had the rubbing problem with the 16's but I did with the 15's. All you really need to do is shave off about .5mm off the edge from the top rear control arm with a die grinder and cutting discs. It's only in a small area you need to shave.
Or you can get some adjustable control arms, which will clear the rim easily. I now have the SPC rear arms and there is a lot more clearance than the stock arms.

Sure they do. Their spacers also come with longer wheel studs.

I 'm pretty sure H&R makes spacers for Integras & Civics. Acutally I know a few people with Tegs that have them, not sure about Civics..
I made the mistake too and bought the 45mm K1s 15x7". The rim is about 2mm away from the upper control arm but I auto-xed with them on all last season and never heard any scraping. I 'm lowered at least 1" in the rear. 38mm offset should improve handling as well. I wish I had gotten those but the stupid Tirerack salesman recommended 45mm. Then I see a warning label on the wheels, saying "it may rub on the upper control Arms of Acuras & Hondas"!! Haven't had a problem yet, but I want to lower the car a little more and install coilovers and that's when I might get scraping.. Those darn H&R spacers are so expensive.. but I hear they 're pretty light like 4-5 ounces each I think. Does anyone know if they 're aluminum?

I ordered a pair of H+R spacers and ARP wheel studs for the rear. It only seems to rub when I go hard around a turn. I have some Integra rear disc brakes coming in, so when they do, I will shave off some of the upper control arm and install the wheel studs.
thanks again for all the help!
