integra flex pipe inlet size?
anyone know the inlet size for a flex for a 94 integra ls? searched can't find it
reason im asking is because my exhaust all the sudden is more louder in the front of the car especially in 1st and 2nd gear and i brought it to a mechanic he told me to rev the car up and said that it was the flex pipe gone. or is it the intermediate pipe?

nope it's the part of the exhaust, extension of the header that is insulated to dampen sound. it's either called a flex or flex pipe. i'll attach a link to one

There is no flex pipe on the LS exhaust. The header connects to the cat with a "donut" flange that allows movement, and then the cat bolts directly to the rest of the exhaust. There is another "donut" joint where the muffler section bolts on, but again, no flex pipe.
I can see why you may be confused. I have seen them on Civics' and Preludes' so I guess it's not totally out of the question to have one (aftermarket) on an Integra. Anyway to answer your question if your car is USDM it will be 2" and JDM 2 1/2". But I'm with sneaky, Dounuts flex springs and bolts at the outlet.

Well, the mechanic was right the flex pipe is gone; it was probably never even there. My suggestion is to jack up the car and take a look for yourself. If you can't find an obvious leak, a good trick that kills two birds with one stone (Sorry for the metaphor) is to put Seafoam into the main vacuum line while the car is up and on jack stands. What this will accomplish are couple of things. First, Seafoam will give your car a good valve cleaning. Second, once you've done the Seafoam application visually inspect the exhaust manifold and watch for white smoke seeping from the gasket near the bolts.
Next hop on the creeper and roll under your car and inspect the exhaust system, starting where the header connects to the cat.
Then move on down the cat back to the muffler. All the while you are looking for white smoke and/or a clear liquid dripping at the exhaust leak point. Do not worry, the dripping is the Seafoam that didn't burn off and will be the best indicator of a exactly where the exhaust leak will be, so keep an eye out. My moneys on the fact that doughnut gasket has finally disintegrated. This gasket is where the header outlet connects the cat. inlet. This link will help to replace this gasket if I am correct.

A new gasket is relatively cheap and most local auto part stores have them in stock. If you need instructions on the Seafoam App. this is a great article! For this exhaust leak trick with the Seafoam I use 1 ½ the amount suggested in the article for a good drip.

Good luck and play nice with others!
