automatic

is it an acura/honda dealer? The best way to find out what they're gonna ask is to go onto kelly blue book... i think http://www.kbb.com is the website. Just do a search. You'll probably get a better deal buying from a private seller.

According to KBB, if it is an LS it should be around $10,500-11K and if it's a GS it should be around $11,500-12K.

Right now an auto might not seem like a big deal and you don't really care, but once you get it, it won't be as fun. Trust me, I did the same and got an auto and I really wished I had got a manual. But, it's still an Integra and I love it.

well you havent really given us enough info about it to say how much is too much. It could have been in an accident... could've been beat on...

If it were in mint condition according to kelly blue book you wouldn't want to pay more than 10g.

expect to pay around at least 8k for it but I would recommend buying from a dealership for the warranty just in case anything breaks down

if you go unto that car lot looking like you fell in love with the teg, that saleman is gonna take you for all you have.

rather, go in with a bunch of other integra listings off the internet, and a notepad with some numbers (in other words look like you've done your research), then after taking the car for a test drive, and looking it over, say the best you can offer is $8000...and tell him in a polite manner that if that is not good enough, you'll have to go check out the other integras on your list.
if he's willing to negotiate, give him a chance, but don't pay more than $8750
(be prepared to walk away, there are many integras in the sea )

be sure to check the classifieds section here on HT, there are a lot of nice integras in that price range.

they actually probably own the car for no more than $6K, assuming it's a LS, this is from a zip used in TX. If you have pretty good credit you can probably get away paying $9K-$9500+ TTL. Since it being a small dealership, they usually deal with people that have bad credit and know they can get away by seeling it for over $11K, so you may have to dish out if you really want it.
Im a sales person, but not at a small rinky dink dealership.

you = a waste

Just because you think everyone should drive a manual doesn't mean that everyone has to drive one for it to be considered a car. Someone might like the integra for it's styling and feel, and might want to use it as a daily driver.

You would think that walking in knowing (or pretending that you know) what your talking about works and throwing out a lower offer, but I have seen my brother throw offers out the window because they were too low. I asked and he said that he basically diddn't need that persons business enough to lose profit, and he was right. There are plenty of Integras, but there are also plenty of people to buy one. You probably need that guy more than he needs you (even if there are better cars for cheaper)

I think if a girl drives a manual no matter what she looks like, attraction factor goes up 90%. Sorry i had to add that, but you should go to autotrader.com and check out around how much they are goin for. Just get as much ammunition you can before you go to the dealer. Ask them if they have all the maintenance records and such. You dont want to buy a car and end up having to dump a bunch of money into it. GL on the buy

I spoke from experience on both ends, and I've bought and sold a bunch of cars privately, not to mention, gone with many family and friends to buy guys for themselves.
I stand by what I said, and have seen it work many times.

Probably has, but you can imagine how much embarasment this guy would feel if he just got rejected on the spot like that. Its kinda funny sometimes. For instance, we had a del sol with a B18C swap in it, but the interior was iffy (riced out) and this guy came down with all sorts of price listings and such and told us he would pay $3,000 firm when we were selling it for $4,500. The guy was super cocky and pushy so we told him $10K and no less. He ended up buying a Solara a week later.

why I said this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Cliffjumper2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">...and tell him in a polite manner that if that is not good enough, you'll have to go check out the other integras on your list.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

the guy you speak of must have been a moron, cause not only would I have been polite and tactful...I would have walked away and bought my del sol for $3000 to $3200.
but maybe I'm spoiled cause within 30 miles of me, there's five honda dealerships, 4 nissan, 3 acura, 3 lexus, 6 toyota, and countless other used car dealers.
oh, and if the salesman is coming off as an *******, I walk away from him, and ask to deal with another salesman, cause I give respect and expect respect back in return.

if you walk into the dealership saying or acting like this is the car you want, then they'll try to make more off of it... but if you have the power to walk away, then sometimes the best thing you can do is just that.

If you don't care about the speed and stuff, buy an older model integra. It will be a lot cheaper. If you are east coast save up and buy neomugens type-r for 15k.

from my experience, i would much rather buy a car from a private party rather than a dealership, just because they do raise the cost a lot more, and theres a lot of hassling, paperwork, etc. i bought my 2nd integra from a private party from the auto trader. i talked em down $500 and he also ended up throwing in the stock gsr wheels with tires, stock intake, stock deck, and extra stuff like lights, license plate frames, just a bunch of junk like that for free. all u have to do is just get a loan from the bank, which i'm sure has a lower intrest rate than a dealer anyway, and the whole process took us maybe 40 minutes at most. i guess a benefit of a dealership would be the warranty, but if you buy from private party u can just get like carfax or something to make sure it hasnt been through any accidents, get it looked at by a mechanic in ur area to make sure nothings screwy with it and u should be fine. acuras are way dependable. the <U>only</U> problem i've had with mine in over a year is the master cylinder went out. anyways. just thought i'd put in my 2 cents.

oh and imo... i guess it's personal preference... but manual is so much more fun, if ur lookin for a car just for transportation i guess auto is fine... but anything other than that and u gotta have manual it's not hard to learn dude. when i bought my 1st teg it was stick, and i basically taught myself to drive it home right then. haha. that was an...interesting...time... lol. that was a few years ago. now i'm on teg #2 (*** theives) and i love it more than anything.

Well of course respect is met with respect. In certain situations, assholery is met with more assholery. Going to another salesman in our lot wont do much, cause the other one is me, and after me comes my dad. A lot of ******** come in from East LA, and mostly young asian or mexican kids (im not pointing out any ethnic group, just the surrounding community) and I dont think they realize that no matter how hard they push, or how much they try to bring us down, in the end, somebody is still going to buy the car. I would hate to sound cocky, but there are way more people looking to buy than actual cars, so we dont need everyones business, hence the jerkyness towards ******. Only reason I would go to a dealership is for a trade in, and security of having a warranty.
