is it necesarry to have that stupid little metal box around the filter of my cai?
i have some nitrous express intake piece of crap that came in my car when i bought it and it leads the air filter down to the bottom of my car right next to the turn signal and sits right above the little plastic guard thing on the bottom of my car. It just seems like it would get colder air without the little metal box, and the box rattles and its starting to drive me crazy.. Im in texas so it doesnt rain all that much and I dont have to drive in heavy rain water or anything like that.
i have a 99 gsr btw.

its not super necessary. i dont even have one on mine, i just convert my to short ram when it rains. not a big deal in my opinion.
