Default how do i take off the intake manifold?

i took off all the nuts that is securing it to the head. i took off the thermostat housing. the IM is moving back from all of the head, but i cant get it far enough to clear the studs that are coming from the head. by studs i mean where the nuts hold the IM to the head.

It's easier to do this in a two step procedure. Take off the upper manifold part and then this part connecting to the head. But this is more expensive because you should replace the gasket then.

if you cuss at those dirty japs for not giving an extra 1/2" of firewall clearance enough, it just may slide off. i've never taken it off without taking the head off, so i'm not really sure if it can......but what these guys are saying seems to make good sense.

there should be a black bracket connecting under the intake manifold and a box-like sensor you have to dis-connect....we installed a skunk2 intake manifold on my 98' lude about 2 weeks ago.....

why would you do that? if you're gonna pull the motor, just pull it all at once........it's so east that way. then you have all kinds of room to take the IM off instead of trying to squeeze your hands in places that only japanese hands were meant to fit. it'll take you another 45 minutes to an hour to take the motor out doing it that way. but if you've got to take it off without removing the motor, then you'll just need skinny hands, a long fused temper, and air conditioning.

Even if you don't remove the IM before removing the entire motor, I do recommend removing the TB before taking out the motor. I do this so I can avoid any accidental damage to the TPS Ever notice how many JDM swaps have a broken TPS
