Basically, you buy the hose in bulk, then buy what fittings you will need for the ends. There have been many articles written on how to assemble hose, but the basic principle is:

1) Tape up hose where you are going to cut it (to prevent fraying)
2) Cut hose. I use a 48 TPI hacksaw, but a cutoff wheel, dremel, or specific stainless hose cutting tools work better.
3) Mount female portion of hose end in vise.
4) Shove the hose into the female end as far as it will go. This takes some muscle.
5) Lubricate the male end with assembly lube and shove it into the ID of the hose.
6) Screw the male end into the female end (a-huh-huh-uh) using an -AN wrench. (A regular wrench will work but you will mess up the pretty anodized coating)

The AN fittings would be your best bet. (described above)

To put hose ends on the hoses you will need someone to do it for you. AN fittings can be tough to install if you're new to it, but on the other hand the hose ends are impossible unless you have the correct machinery.

interesting, i need to look up pictures to see how it'll work, because when i looked into summit racing, it looks at as if i just need to plug it straight up to the hose end to the fitting.

That is for socketless hose. Socketless hose is made by Aeroquip and it is blue in color. Stainless braided hose is the muscle on and screw in variety.

The only tools you need are some wrenches, hacksaw, tape, the assembly lube, and some manly forearm muscles.
