Default Air intake question?

In your opinions, does dirt enter the engine much more easily through a cold air intake system, can it harm the engine or anyother parts in anyway? Or is the oiling and the amount of oil used after cleaning the secret?

the filter "filters" out the dirt, so your motor doesnt see any dirt with either intake..

I'm just asking this cause I've heard that some dudes had bad experiences with their intakes and that dust went throught their filter into the engine... I just don't know whether to believe it or not?

well if thats true dust can get to your filter anywhere even float up from to the engine bay! Your bigger concern would not be dust but water! Although you would have to completely submerge the filter and how often do you have water up to your headlights? I have a 99 Civic Si with a CAI NO problems! I also had one of my CRX for over a year with NO problems and I drive down dirts roads!

wheter dust is entering the engine or not, you won't realize until you tear the engine apart or it blows from it.

If you use a quality filter like K&N you do not have to worry
