Why did they give us one of the worst sounding horns? i was mad in traffic and honked and this guy who almost clipped me, well after i did i was really embarrassed by the sissy horn they gave the integra, whats up with that? and how many of you have replaced the stock horn? i heard hella air horns are supposed to be good? any opinions?

 

I agree. The horn is ghey. I will be looking for something more beastly.

That's why I only use the high beam. You can't honk a Honda horn, you can only beep them.

Ha ha I agree. I had a 90 Hatchback, it had a decent horn, got a 94 Coupe and I was like what the hell, I mean I know a lot of women buy these cars but damn. And unfortunately my R has the same Queer horn as the Coup. Oh well. (I thought I was the only one that noticed this.)

I've installed a big rig horn into my baja and I'm about to do the same for my teg. Damn things are awesome!

A few years ago, I was gonna put a RoadRunner (the car) horn in my teg. But the guy flaked on me and didn't want to sell it anymore.

Would have been sweet though...beep, beep.

Got t your local Ferrari dealer and buy the FIAM horn and compressor kit. You can wire it up in about an hour. The horn now sounds as it should.....LOUD....plus it looks good from the front...you can jst see the horns peaking out behind the grill

Heh, one day I honked at my friend in his parent's new Dodge Ram. He proceeded to laugh at me, until he honked his horn.

Ha, it was almost exactly the same as the Integra's horn. Really high pitched so it was hilarious coming from a huge truck.

 

Hah! You gotta hear smaller cars like the CRX. I used to have one and that thing was so sorry...makes the teg sound monsterous.

If you want the big rig sound, I would recommend Hadley air horns.



All you have to decide is where on your roof you want to mount them, and where to install the string on the inside of your cab.

 

Those things also act as an air brake LOL

 

my friend actually went to a industrial supply place and bought a horn for a street sweeper, and dear lord is that thing loud in his civic, sounds almost like a semi.

How hard is it to change the horn? and how much would it cost??

 

Answer: easy easy easy

Undo the top rad mounts and tilt the rad back and you have easy access to the area where the horn is. You can also access it from the grille area (tighter quarters though - small hands are an asset).

Undo the bolt holding the horn (10 mm) and undo the socket.

If you are replacing the horn with an electrical one - it's as easy as hooking up the +ve and -ve wires and you are done.

Air horns require a compressor and air hoses - but it's still easy.

 

that's why when people cut me off in traffic, i fire my 9mm out the window to get there attention.

 

If you honk the horn twice really fast, you will realize that it is very similar to the Road Runner's "Beep Beep" voice.
