Help - will a right hand drive shifter console fit our car?
i need to purchase a manual shifter console to do my manual conversion, i've seen a couple on ebay and planning to get it.
my question for u is, well a jdm shifter console fit our tegs?
i know that the jdm has a curve to the left, while our stock ones curft to the right for some reason? more room for your legs?
anyone?

no it will not fit, the entire console is set up for left/right hand drive. The only piece that can be swaped over is the AC/Heat console, anthing below that is side specific. I know i found out the hard way by getting a RHD ashtray and it would not fit do to the slope
*edit* pic did not load the first time, the entire console MIGHT work. I know the arm rest eliminato will work, but not sure if the rest will actually bolt up or not.

yeah, im thinking it might fit, maybe it would require me to force it a little to the right.
but, im not sure, maybe i would need to replace the side panels where the radio is, and let it curve with the shifter.
so i think i need to purchase the side pieces where the radio is also to make it fit perfectly.

just buy the original usdm console. trying to be too different will get you no where when it trully doesnt work. since you're a determined spirit make it work and make sure to show us pics.

Umm...NO it will NOT work. Take a look at your existing center console. Take a look at THAT console pictured. Its molded differently. The JDM console was made for a RHD car with the RHD dash. Your tan console was made for a LHD car with a LHD dash. Case in point, you can even swap out a black center console from any USDM GSR or ITR or even LS with black interior and it will go in with NO problems. Try cramming that JDM console in and you'll immediately notice that it will not line up right no matter what you do. So don't even waste your money or time trying. That is....unless you're converting to RHD as well

yes i know, im guess i need to purchase two more plastic pieces for it to fit (the radio outside panesl left and right).
and its too late for me to cancel my purchase. i already got it.

ummm...if you're talking about what I think you're talking about, its actually a part of the dash itself. But if there is a way to "seperate" it from the dash....more power to ya. But I honestly don't think there is a way to since I've actually swapped out several dashes in a few tegs including my own. I only say that because I too once owned a JDM RHD center console....and no matter what I did...I just couldn't find a way for everything to line up or even fit. Though...not that I destroyed anything in the process. I ended up selling the console to someone else and lost like $20 in the deal. Oh well.

I am referring to this part. Right beside the radio (right and left panels)
Im thinking if i can get these parts, it should be able to fit without any problem since it will curve with the shifter console.
seeing that the USDM version curves on the passenger side while the jdm curves on the left side.
edit: i think that panels pops right off.
Are you sure you got a JDM one....? The one pictured looks like a USDM ITR console and climate control to me, just with a red stiched shift boot... The JDM climate controls I've seen usually have an auto feature, and the temp **** is differentiated by numbers, not by color...
no...he has the JDM ones. I had one just like that before I sold it. The only parts I could have used was the A/C cover, the ashtray and....that was about it. The driver's side vent will most def NOT go on
Confewcious....I've looked at that part on my own car and I seriously doubt they'd pop off. More so, I have an extra black dash in my shed outside...I looked at that too and did not see anyway that it could just "pop off". Then I compared the contours of the dash with those parts you're planning on removing. Ummm....either way its not going to fit bro. I hate to say this over and over again, but....it ain't gonna fit unless you're converting to RHD too
To be more detailed as to why......well...if there was any hope that the JDM console would fit, you'd have to get the RHD versions of those panels OFF of a RHD dash. And looking at those panels...it doesn't look like they'd swap out easily without some kinda fabrication. And last I checked...those were not removable panels by any means unless you're willing to take a chance at ruining your dash ( almost permanently ). Then...you'll have another part you have to replace
And that would be a costly lesson. An extremely costly lesson......but like I said before, if you can do it, more power to you. But from my experience, the ONLY way you can pull this off is with a lot of money spent on someone who can "fabricate" that to fit into your interior......which...would be a waste of money.
*edit*
I know you really need to install that part, but trust me on this one...I'm trying to save you a crap load of money and another crap load of headaches.....I've tried it before....several other members on H-T have looked into it...and to no avail. If there was a way to make it fit and keep that "OEM" look , I would have posted about it a long time ago......

Sell what you got. Its not gonna work. Don't be stupid. THE PARTS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ARE NOT REMOVABLE. Coming from a guy who has worked on the interior of many, many Integras, what you are doing is stupid. Listen to the people with experience. Go to the junkyard and grab a shifter console. The GayDM one will not work!
well, i'll try to make it work, cuz i really dont see why not. Looks like the console will just alright right up from what i can see. too lazy to try it today.
i'll let you know and take a picture to show you how it goes.
just to let you see if it fits or not.
if not, then people will know not to waste any money on it.
and if it does fit, then good.

hehe ur being ignorant it will indeed not fit i had to learn the hardway as well! i bought one for liek $20 on ebay 2 years ago and it did not fit, so i put it back on ebay and stated it would not and got $70 for it, so whateva,, bought a lhd itr one from some place back east that had a itr in the junkyard if u can make it work cool, i got the rhd driver side airvent to work on a lhd, but i had to think it out and then fabricate it to work, i tried to do the same with the rhd console but nope wasnt working
not only are you being ignorant, but you're being way stubborn. You're seem like the type of person that goes up to a landmine asking if it will not blow up if you step on it because it looks like a dud, and there are many people telling you NOT to because you'll lose at least a leg, but you go and step on it anyway and end up a parapalegic. That's alright. Some people like learning the hard way. You're one of them.
And when you find out that the console will NOT FIT AT ALL ( hopefully without you destroying your dash ) you'll be yet again post another thread of probably many ( that were ignored ) that stated it did not work after the first guy that tried and the many of those that told you it wouldn't. With that, I'm done with this thread. All I have to say is....I hope you either A: don't destroy your dash in the process of trying to make it fit or B: have another dash lying around somewhere you can use to replace the one you're about to ruin

the whole middle section of the dash is off-center, depending on which-hand-drive the car's dashboard is. The shifter console will not work with the wrong dashboard, no 2 ways around it. The rear section (armrest) is not side-specific, because it sits dead center. In fact, it's actually the shifter console itself that makes the transition from the off-center dashboard radio housing to the centered armrest section.
i told i will trade you!!!!!!!!! I have a rhd integra that needs that center console. but i have a LHD center console from a usdm integra type-r.
