Default Buying a CRX

Well after this summer I should have the money for my first car. And I am seriously considering a CRX with hopes of dropping a B16 soon after but the stock engine is gonna have to do me for a few months. I was wondering if there are certain things I should look out for or make sure of when looking and also any quick changes or modifications that should be done after purchase. Any opinions/info is appriciated.

The first thing you should do is CHECK FOR RUST, these cars have a horrible rust problem, plus don't be surprised if many of the cars you look at have ripped seats, it's another problem these cars have.

Ripped seats are alot easier to deal with then rust.

i agree i have to deal with both but you might want to try to buy a crx with a swap already done you can save a decent amount of money aslong as it was a good swap

Also, don't forget body damage. Regardless, you will probably have to deal with some, as CRXs that haven't been in some kind of frontal collision seem to be more rare than a nonsmoking musician.

RUST RUST RUST!
Also look for those little things that might bother you later. Little things that u have to buy to bring your car up to your expectations before you swap a motor might add up. Cracked dash, broken window regulators, broken sunroofs (if getting SI), ripped interior, etc. Jus try to find one that is as mint as possible...that's my opinion.

If your buyin a CRX then definatly look for rust in the rear quaters, doors, floors, etc, if the car look like it has been repainted then look for crappy bondo work and stuff like that...Good Luck

All right, ill keep all this in mind, but do you guys really think its best to look for one with a B16 or B20 already installed? I sorta wanna start from a plain, stock CRX an bild to my taste. Also so i know the mods an custom work is being done right.

If you find one for cheap price, look for body damage and test drive to see if it drives smoothly.
