Default run advance timing on I/E/H?

right now i have an intake, header and exhuast on my car...the basics...i'm installin my dizzy today and was thinking of advancing the timing to...18? should i keep it at 16 stock? i'm running 92 octane too. i dont want to do anything to lower the daily drivability of my car

i ran mine advanced to 18 and my spark plugs went out pretty fast, i was running rich. i would keep it stock.
