Default cooling fans question

The cooling fans in my Integra have never came on for as long as I have owned the car. The car never over-heats and I recently installed a new thermostat a few months ago.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I know it is not a major concern since the car does not overheat but I am curious to why the fans have never turned on.
Thanks.

The fans still don't turn on after the new t-stat? Do you have AC? If so turn it on and see if the fans turn on. Otherwise there are a few things you should check. First apply straigth 12V/ground to the fans via jumper wires to verify that they work. Then check the temp switch for the fans (2 wire plug at the t-stat housing). If that's working then check the fan relays.

What is the best way to apply straight 12V ground to the fans? The fan relays seem to be fine but I also need to check the temp. switch at the thermostat housing. Is there a way to tell if that is in proper working order?

Thanks.

any power leads will do or you can apply it directly from the battery.

yeah....heat it up on the stove and see if there is continuity between the pins....also if you let your car idle for like 20 min without driving it and it doesnt overheat, i am pretty sure that your fans are working. i thaught i had a fan problem for a while but no overheating...it turned out everything was fine i had just never let it get hot enough to need the fans.
you could also try driving it hard for a while and than park it while it runs, that should either make the fans come on or it should overheat.
