H22A Engine Swap Into 94 Accord EX Question
I searched the forums already but didnt find anything. But I just got a question to ask real quick. Now my accord is an Automatic, if I was going to swap this H22A into the car, would I have to get the transmission changed also or it would be alright keeping it automatic???
Here are the 2 links of the H22A engines I'm looking at and which would be the better one to choose cause I dont know about the complete
change over or the other.

Start with the basic bolt-ons. Intake, header, and exhaust. Do your research on each and make a purchase. Past that start doing headwork, cams, turbo whatever your budget can afford. Traction? LSD. I assume you don't have a limited slip differential. That will make way more traction. Look around on here, there is a wealth of info. Use the search function and out in h22. That should keep you busy for a few decades.

I have a 94 accord ex that was automatic before I did the H22 swap on it and I converted it to a manual. You can still keep the automatic that was originally in the car but I recommend converting it. It does take more work but in the end it will be worth it.
hey thank you for the help. recently i got the h22a4 but im not sure wat to do next, i am goin to take what u have said and see what i can add to it later on, thank you for posting me some tips, i am open to ne thing u can provide me with. thanx again...
one other thing im stuck on is if there are any like steps u take like if i put an aem cold air i have a jdm evo exhaust w/hfc-high flow cat. then should i do like vtec controller, sleeving the pistons next or like something else are there a list of things u usually do in order is sorta wat im asking. i kno everyones different but ur posts are helping me a lot so i hope this isnt asking too much of ya. thanx

When I did my swap the first things I did was exhaust clutch flywheel intake and vafc. If you are converting it to manual I would prefer you upgrading the clutch now while the motor is out of the car then having to drop the tranny out in the near future. Also if you are converting it to manual keep in mind that the clutch pedal bracket will need to be supported. If not the bracket will flex until it breaks. And for the motor it all depends on what u want to do with it in the future. All motor, turbo, nitrous?

If you want to keep it automatic, you have to:
Re-use your stock flexplate/flexplate bolts (auto trans have shorter flywheel bolts)
Use the H22 axles/halfshaft (stronger)
Buy a JDM P13 auto trans ECU or else convert the one you get with the swap.
Get driver's motor mount from 92-96 USDM H22 lude and grind the **** out of it to narrow it enough to fit the accord body.
Follow the regular MT H22 swap guidelines and your 16 second H22 accord will be ready to roll.

I noticed that no one really answered your question, If I were you I would go with the cheaper of the two. Use your Accord Axles, that is if you plan on keeping it an automatic.
Also if you are looking to save money for the time being you can use your Accord transmission, I did until I had the money to get the H22 tranny. Also make sure you get an automatic P13 ecu. Usually when you buy complete swaps you will ket the necessary items like this.
