Default Question: starter---battery --my car wont start question

Lately, Ive been having a lot of trouble starting my car in the morning. After I get it to start, it works perfectly through the day.

When I go and turn the car over in the morning, it wont crank or make any noises. After serveral attemps, it turns over. Today, I tried it and it didnt start after serveral minutes, so Im very concerced since I need the car for work.

Is it my battery or my starter? I jumped started my car, and it worked. The funny thing is, my lights etc all work fine. My battery is an autolite from kragen. Its about a year old, so I dont know why it would be a problem.

Find the nearest Autozone and have battery and alternator checked. They also do starter test, but it has to be brought in.
Check the main relay, it's underneath the driver's side dashboard...left by the door hinge area.

my friend had the exact same symtoms on his toyota like the battery was fine but it wouldnt start till you jumped it and then it started and it was his starter so i'd check that...

How long between restarts during the day? If it is not long it is the battery. They are strange creatures. And if you got that crappy battery they will die on you in less than a year. Don't pay less than 70 dollars for a batt. unless you want to replace it soon. But then again once a bought a reman for twenty buck and it lasted four years. Till i put a system in it. But on the most part they don't. Once I saw a battery test good and last all day when I tested it again at the end of the day it was gone again.

It is definately not you starter tho. When they heat up then they start messing up. Not cold.
