Default JDMSh!t.com Mugen V2 Lip Install/Review.

Ever since I've been redoing my car, the Mugen V2 lip from JDMSh!t.com had always caught my eye, I ordered it about a month ago and it finally arrived yesterday, it was on back order. When I recieved it, it was in very good condition and I could not find ANY flaws with it at all. The lip is made out of very durable ABS plastic.

I thought I'd do a write up on the install on the lip. It is a pretty straight foward process, but some people may not know where to start.

Tools/Supplies needed:
Drill with Philips bit and small drill bit (not sure how big the bit was).
Self Tapping Screws x4
Z shaped Shim.
Bolt with washer/nut x1
Philips Screw Driver
Ratchet (depending on what size bolts you have on your bumper, will determine what size socket you need, most need between 8-10.)

To begin this project, you're obviously going to want to remove your bumper to make this job a lot easier.

Start by removing the 5 screws across the front middle of your bumper.

Next, once those are off remove the 2 bolts on either side of bumper, the connect to your fenders.

Next, there are 2 more bolts on the bottom side of the bumper, remove these as well.

Once the bumper is off, bring it to somewhere you have a decent amount to work in. This is where I ran into some problems. This lip did not fit this bumper very well at all. When I would get one of the ends on, the other side was atleast 2 inches off from joining with the edge of the bumper.

I first secured the one side with 1 screw to secure it so it wouldn't move out of place. I than had to pull and distort the lip to get to connect to the order side (I thought I was going to brake it, but it held up).

I than placed a screw in this side to hold it into place. I than screwed in one more bolt to each side to firmly secure it. Now make sure before you put in the final screws that the lip sits evenly across the face of your bumper.

Once both sides were firmly secure, I than looked at the front of the bumper and noticed that it was very loose in the front. I took one of the Z shaped shims I recieved with the lip and mounted it as pictured to firmly secure the lip.

That's it for the bolting and screwing. Now, other than the places I listed. I could not find any other suitable places to put bolts/screws into to hold it in place.

This is what it should look like when you're done.

All and all, the lip looks great and is very durable but the fitment is poor. However, take into consideration that I am using an OEM STYLE bumper, it may fit 10x better on a genuine OEM Honda front bumper. Although, if it does fit poorly on that bumper as well, you can make the lip work and make it look good as I did. JDMSh!t gave this lip an 8/10 on fitment, I give it a 4/10. But like I said, it may fit the 8/10 on a genuine OEM Honda bumper.

After the lip is on the bumper, re-install the bumper on your car and admire your work.

Also, feel free to look at my project as well.

Wow, really? Honestly, speaking with my friends and others most lips have poor fitment on all bumpers, it's really a shame. Oh well though, it can be made to work though.

Thanks man.

Like I said, the lip fit horribly but it can be made to fit.

And I'm sure, if it's on my bumper long enough it will 'mold to that fitment' so it'll fit better next time.

Yeah man, I was given something that I paid for. It could've been better, but you have to work with what you have, overall I'm very happy with how I got it to turn out.

Definitely. Usually, it's a pretty straight foward process, but with most lips they usually don't fit that well. Using random odds and ends you can find around your house you can make it fit bueatifully.
