Can i use my d16y8 crank sensor on a d16z6 block?? i need it for emissions reasons..

Default Can i use my d16y8 crank sensor on a d16z6 block?? i need it for emissions reasons..

i have a 99 civic EX and i want to swap in a built motor, all i can find are z6 blocks.. i need to be able to return my car to stock for emissions so i need to know if the crank sensor from my d16y8 will work on the d16z6 motor,

yes should work. i put one on my older b18b when i did ls vtec

actualy u can't because on the 99 ek the crank sensor is next to the crank pulle while the z6 ckt sensor is located int he distrbtor

yes you can as long as the oil pump has the mounting spot for hte sensor, and you use the sprocket that has teh pickups for the sensor.
