need help
i got a 2000 civic ex sohc vtec d16y8 and i am doing changing my motor due to spun rod bearing....so i am putting a d16z6 block with a d16y8 head....but the timing cover on the original motor has a sensor on the crank....what sensor is that??? and would that make my check engine light go on??? is my car going to start???

you can take the sensor from the d16y8 and put it over the z6. it is the crank position sensor. and yes it will throw a code and not start
