FI Newbie alert: h22 questions
hey i have a 95 prelude vtec (h22a1) with 132k on it...
Just did a compression test and yielded
190 - 170 - 190 - 195
OK right?
no burning of oil or other problems... it runs strong and i ran a 14.9 (w/ 2.28 60ft) at the track (i/h/e/clutch/flywheel)
Would Turbo'ing / Nitrous be a horrrrrible idea?
Idealistically, i would like to build the block for boost (turbo) but im wondering if it would be a beter idea.. to buy a bare block and build it.... or just turbo this block... then build it if it blows up
?!?!
It is a daily driver
Probably tune with uberdata
Thanks for the help

Depends on you really. You say it is a daily driver. If you build the block that you have, can you afford the down time? If not, then purchase a bare block/head from someone and start building that. Usually I would say put the bottle on it or boost it, but with 132K+, I might step back and think about that one. The ringlands are the weak link in that motor stock, so again with that mielage I would not do it.
You should be able to find a bare block/head fairly easy, and at a fairly affordable price as well.
Good luck,
Jason

yea i htink ive decided that i will just drive this current motor to the ground, and in the mean time.. search for a bare block...
Id like the car to have over 250 whp if possible.. , but i want it to be SAFE.
necessary to sleeve?
the stock head fine?
3" exhaust right?
255fuel pump?
upgraded ignition neccessary?
