F-Series Block? - Need build input
Okay, ill keep it simple. My Prelude is turboed right now, on low boost. I want to pull my h22 block out of my car to start building it. I have been hearing f22 blocks are pretty strong and can take a lot of boost (iron sleeves). Is this true or bs?
I am just looking into what would be the strongest block to toss in that i can make pretty good power on while i build my h22 block. I want to know what the strongest block i can use is (stock, not built). I was hoping for high 200's to the wheels for now untill i build a block, but if their is something that can allow me more than that, then BONUS lol.
OR
does anyone recommend i just leave in my h22 block, and do a block build on a different block?
Just need some input here guys. I am very close to the stage where I want to start building a block. Thanks alot.

Re: F-Series Block? - Need build input
I actually just swapped an F22B DOHC into my 5th gen prelude. i did it because the F blocks have a great track record with boost. im pretty sure its 9.2 CR and it does have iron sleeves. I should be tuning in the next month or so, and im actually hoping for high 200's or low 300's. as far as i know, the F22B is the only double cam non vtec f series. any other F engine and you will probably be sacrificing too much torque for our heavy *** preludes. if youre really that curious just wait to see what mine puts down because im just as curious ha. for the record, there are quite a few differences with the harnesses, and a few modifications that i had to do to get everything to fit right.

I have had f22 turbo for awhile now. they are strong i took the stock engine to 20psi. I never blew it up. I took the engine apart and the piston look like new. I have a built f22 now. I like the engine made 300hp and 330 tq on 12 psi 57 trim. What i dont like is the engine want make power over 6500rpms. But i think this is do to the stock cam design.I have a bisimoto 1.2 cam made power to 6800. I am going to try a bisimoto 2.4 cam, bisi has told me that the 2.4 is designed to make more power up top.

Definitly let me know what you put down for numbers. Ive got a similar size turbo, except im running a shitty log manifold.

Re: F-Series Block? - Need build input
no I am running the F22B head. The F22B DOHC is basically an F22 with an H23 head (non vtec). same head as the h23. I didnt think throwing an H22 head would do much given the fact that these blocks wouldnt make use of the head anyways, only making power in the mid 6k range. I will definitely be posing #'s once its tuned. if you dont see it on here itll be on PP.
