Default B16a Problems

(B16a-89hatch) So im doing my swap and we get the engine in and everything connected and I figured Id start er up see if it runs. It started but had an irratic idle inbetween 1500 and 2000 rpms. Anyone know how to fix that?

I shut it off the engine and proceeded to start the vtec wiring (+2nd O2, and the knock sensor) I pick up the diagram and as soon as I start inspecting my ECU plugs I notice I have no wire or pin to splice into in slot A8 (VTEC solenoid) and no wire or pin to splice into on C8 (2nd O2) !!! Honda dealership closed for 4 days! Need my car runnin VTEC tomorrow! help!

when you are wiring up your car for vtec there are four plugs u have to wire up, 2 wires slice into existing wires, while the other 2 u just put in the empty slots thats the way its supposed to be.
If u have the directiosn it should tell u that, I am sure if this is what u are talking about but i think this is what u are trying to say.... is this the hasport sub-harness or one u are making?

Gotta follow that.

Go to the Junkyard and cut off the ECU harness ends of the crx....doesn't matter which. And START PRACTICING how to De-pin them. It's a bitch under the dash and you need to be able to do it effeciently or back problems will happen.

You can also use the wires from the car and the ecu pinned ends to make this work. Solder the Wires and wrap them with Good electric tape when putting them in the bundle. or they'll ground out and **** stuff up.

The knock sensor has to have a good amount of wire on it to get it tucked into the bundle and then run through the firewall.

The o2 sensor is a piece of cake. Run the wires to their repective plugs and then run those to the ecu. Bam. If your Motor is bogging out....FLIP THEM AROUND. They are pinned wrong.

The vtec and oil stuff is kinda weird. Run the respective wires, plug them in. One of the wires needs to be spliced off on to a another wire. Solder and tape it. Then run it to a ground end.(you can get any of those end at autozone for like 2$ a pck) Then run the new ground to the chasis and bam. I mounted mine to the screw behind the Charcol canister.

That should be it. Oh and be patient.....and make sure your soldering skills are par or above. Otherwise they'll rip apart and then you'll be pissed your motor won't be working right. AND RESEARCH.......
