Default Nail in my tire

Insert Venting
Damn! i just got back from spending a month in vermont away from my bike, and i come back, ride it for ten minutes to do an errand, and i wake up this morning to a flat rear tire, and i found a super sharp 3inch nail in it. It no longer holds air, it doesn't even hold the thought of air. So now i've got my friend heading down to get it into his truck, and take it to a shop to get a replacement tire. It's like 300 bucks after labor. God i missed my bike!

$300 to get a tire installed? **** dude even if you get the tire riped off at the dealership it shouldnt cost that much. get your tool bag, jack up (prefferably swingarm stand) that bitch up, take off the axle nut, pop the axle out, make sure you put your wheel bearings on your axle and then put on the axle nut and set it aside, move your chain off the rear sprocket, and move your rear caliper out of the way, then pull out the tire, take it to the dealership, and have them put it on. at the dealership i work at, if you spend $79 or more on a tire at the dealership, AND you bring in your wheel w/ old tire, they will put it on for free. just my $.02

buy your tires at cycle gear .. for $12, you get motoguard, which will replace your tire for free if you get a nail or anyhthing else in it, in the first 1/4 tread .. after that it's pro rated .. and only $12 to mount the tire.

**** if the tire is newer I would just patch it. I know I know it's not that safe....

And where are you going that a tire costs you $300? I just bought a Metzeler rear for $70 from cycle gear, they price match.

that's exactly what i'm doing. Another honda-tech member instant messaged me and told me to go to the cycle gear in tacoma. I called them and it's only $129 so i'm definitely going there.
And i really like that they have that motoguard thing. Cause i thought, how bad would it suck to pay out the *** to get a new tire, then go pick up another nail. So, i like their little insurance policy, gives me piece of mind. Thanks for the advice people, i'll be riding again tuesday

where do you live? i live about 5 miles from the Cycle Gear in Tacoma. All the people there are really cool. You can get a michelin pilot power rear for $140, mount/balance for $12, and MOTOGUARD for another $12. I take as much business as i can there, cause the people are so cool and they have a 30 day return policy .. dont like it for any reason, bring er' back.

but ya, where are u from?
