Rear Deck Rattles
I recently put a sub into my 98 civic coupe. The rear deck rattles like crazy and is extremely annoying to the point to where i cant even hear the bass sometimes, i just hear the rattling. I have gotten suggestions for stuffing socks in the holes underneath, and shuving stuff between the glass and deck to hold it down. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
yep, just get the sound deadening material..
I know ebay sells some really stuff and when i was researching it people on ht that have used it said to just use 2 layers and it works fine, and its still cheaper than putting 1 layer of the more expensive stuff.

its the plastic cover above the rear deck that rattles. dynomat would go beneath the rear deck inside the trunk--which would not have much effect on the prevention of the rattling plastic above it.
had same prob on my 95 ex. took the rear speaker covers out, wasted 80 on dynomat...all that didnt do ****. my cuhz (who been doing hondaz since his dick was the size of his belly button) bought some stuff from home depot and made a custom deck. now its nothing but clear highs n lows.
look on ebay for eDead. i just bought 120 sguare feet for $100. compare that to $80 for 3 18"x32" sheets of dynamat. you can get small amounts for less, or get the thicker stuff for a little more, depending on your budget

Yeah, I used the eBay stuff (fatmat, do a search on eBay motors) and it's VERY high-quality. About $1/ft plus shipping. Sounds like maybe edead is cheaper though.
After you mat your deck, you might stuff a little piece of foam under there just to brace it.
