Question for yalls
Is there such thing as a JDM GSR?
My buddy says he has a JDM GSR motor in his teg. It says B18C with a black valve cover I saw the car it came out of it was a RHD integra, I was tellin him i dont think its called a GSR over there i think its just a regular integra like a base model.
Just wondering cause he got all worked up,

Yeah it's XSi, and for ure info thats not a b17 like the gsr 90-93 models, it's a regular ole school b16 that came in the XSi models over they're. So if anything all he really losted i would say is like 5 Trq and 0.1 a liter, but overall that can be made up for, plus the 1.6 should have a very little tad more Hp per liter, meaning there should a very minium, if noticable at all, a little more engine response.

a "jdm gsr" teg in japan is called an sir-g integra. the 2nd gen tegs that had b16a's were called integra xsi's. im building and "xsi" right now.

No, everyone else is right. The B18C (with no number at the end of the block code) indicated a JDM SiR-G (the Gen3 USDM GSR equivalent). The B18C1 is the USDM GSR and the B18C5 is the USDM Type R.

Negative, there are 2 B18C's One with a red valve cover which indicates its a Type-R motor and one with a black valve cover that i guess is an Sir-G

Once again the 2 JDM B18C are the usdm equal of b18c1 and b18c5. only true way you know for sure is the stamping on the cylinder head(ex: P72). the valve cover and intake manifold can be easily switched to fool people.
