Default Just installed motor, bad oil leak, please help.

I just Installed by H22 back in my car, and after putting the fluids in I realized a leak from the oil pan. The oil is coming from the drivers side firewall corner of the pan. There is a larger bolt hole between two of the 10mm bots, and I never remember taking out a bolt that large on the oil pan. It never leaked before, but the one difference, is that now there is a rubber oil pan gasket instead of hondabond, and I am wondering if this is the problem? I put the oil like 16hrs ago, and there is still a steady drip every 5-10secs, and I tried to fill it with hondabond and it is still leaking, and I dont know if It can seal beeing mixed with oil. Any responses would be great.

Here is where it is.

Your oil level shouldn't be above the gasket in the pan, so if it's still leaking after 16 hrs then the problem isn't the gasket.....get under there, clean the whole area with brake cleaner really well, start the car for 5 mins or so, and then get back under there and take another look

The oil pan gasket has a large hole in it where it goes over/around that hole. That makes the portion of the gasket thin at that location. Can you see any gasket through the whole? If so, maybe it shifted too far in or out as you tightened things down. They only suggestion I really can provide, though not what you want to hear, is to take the pan off and re-intall the gasket with the assistance of a little hondabond and locations like that one that are prone to leakage.

Which block are you running? If it's running an H22A4, I don't think it should have that gasket.

Regardless, as said before, it shouldn't be leaking from that high up. I would say that maybe the Hondabond didn't get applied at that part of the gasket and it's leaking.

If it continues, you may have to pull the oil pan and reseal the gasket w/ silicone sealant.

you mean this kind of leak? and there isnt anything that goes in that hole i dont know why and you should only use honda bond if your still useing the h22a4 block i found where my leak is comeing from its my oil pump its not bad just one of the mounting holes are striped and leaks out to the balance shaft houseing thing that holds the pully then leaks to timing cover and down all over my pan in that one corner
