question about race springs thread ^^
ok, so i figured i would get a better answer out here, but if need be delete this topic.
im looking at getting some linear rate springs to replace these progressive rate Neuspeed race springs and was wondering how to tell what the ride height is going to be with a certain length spring. right now the car is sitting too low, so low in fact that it has negatively affected the handling of the car. i would like to have it lowered only about 1.5'' from stock.
thanks,
Parker

Its best to run linear rate race springs with coilover sleeves.
The coilovers allow you to set whatever ride height you want within a certain range.
I'm pretty sure a 7" medium rate spring will work on most hondas with coilovers.

You'll need to make some measurements. A 400lb spring, for example, requires 400lbs to compress it 1 inch, 800 lbs for 2 inches, etc.... You will also need to know the approximate weight of the front and rear of your car, or all four corners. Measure from the lower spring perch to the spring hat with your car at the desired ride height, and calculate the spring rate you need from there. Like it was said earlier, get the adjustable sleeves, that way you can choose a spring rate that suits your performance needs, and adjust the spring perch to acheive your ride height needs.
well, im getting a set of illumina's soon, but i wanted something that would be a little more friendly to them.
if i could, i would just spend the extra $100 something dollars on Koni's, but $100=food for 2 weeks for starving college student.
