Upgrade Ignition system for C16 (or other high octane fuel)
Hallo,
yesterday i was told that i maybe have to upgrade my ignition system (B16 OBD0) when running race gas or other high octane fuel, is that correct?
where are the limits of the stock honda ignition system? why do some ppl run MSD's? and if i have to upgrade, what do i have to change exactly?
Thanks
Malte.

so if i build a engine with extrem less cyliner pressure then i need a better ignition system - right?
and when is this the case? maybe someone can give an example.
Thanks

I like to keep things simple and run the OE ignition. I'm sure I'm not making big power but, it works great for me(w/ race gas and pump gas). I think there have been a few people w/ 500+ whp on an OE igntion and an external coil.

I have made 600whp several times on 100% stock ignition. You have to make sure that the OEM coil is good before trying it. I see so many customers throw msd stuff on their cars to have it fail, and go back to OEM.
