Zapco Amp.. How good?
I own a Zapco amp that i have tested on alot of 12's 13's and even 15' inch subwoofers. The amp is great!! I'm wondering how much is it worth? And is it good compare to the outside world? Here's a picture of it. The zapco logo came off but it should be in the middle. it's a 750 limited edition series.
zapco is some of the best amps on the market. im a zapco dealer and i havent had an amp that does as much for the money as they do. they had a low thd of like 0.04 to 0.09 thats great for sound quality. i sell the amp that you have for 600 all day long

thd stands for total harmonic distortion. the lower this number is the better the sound quality of an amp. so the best would be 0.00 but 0.04 for the comp line and 0.09 for the refrence line is great. for example a rockfordfausegate the 8002p puts out 800rms at 0.40 thd. that means that the rockford amp will start to distort sooner and will make for clipping in the sub and poor sound quality. let me know if that makes sence
no it doesnt make sense.
is there an audible difference between them?
so basically, are you saying that if i used a rockford in competition and i competed against someone with a zapco amp, i would have a worse Sound Quality score? i dont understand, you said it is better in Sound Quality, it this what you mean?

JL amps are awesome, made in taiwan, taiwan makes the best stuff. i feel amps that are made in USA suffer build quality simply because americans are lazy compared to other countries.
i wish i could afford JL audio amps, the only thing i can afford is BRAX.

i was just using that as an example. there are a ton of factors that play into sound quality. speakers and how efficent they are. how much power your using per speaker. what type of signal processor your using how many batterys your running, all of that plays into the sound quality. the point i was trying to make is that yes if the settings are the same the zapco will blow the rockford out of the water.
man, you are an idiot. all you do is spread misinformation. you suck, you cause more damage in the audio hobby than good.
here is some good information on THD. read it and learn it, then shut the **** up n00b.

first im not a noob. second nice link. third i was trying to make it easy to under stand. im not trying to say i know it all but damn i didnt start in on you or how you spead ****. all i was doing was trying to help some one that didnt know as much as me or you about car audio. i have been in car audio for almost 9 years so i do know a little. im a mecp installer and i have had plenty of training so ease up a bit there.
dude you are a noob, you are spreading misinformation. you said the zapco amp would be better than rockford because of THD differences. that is straight out wrong. you said lower THD is better for SQ. that is straight up bullshit.
how are you making it easier to understand by saying lower THD will give u better SQ. how is that easier to understand? how are you helping someone learn more about car audio by telling them lies.
if what you said was not a lie, care to explain fully so i can understand what you mean. because that is wrong information and that is the only way i can see it unless you explain what you meant.

that sir is bullshit.
how is it better sound quality when there is no audible difference with a higher THD? how is it going to distort sooner and have a clipped signal sooner? if the gains are adjusted right, there will not be any clipping even with a higher THD.

atf..u gotta stop calling everyone a noob. hahaha.
i seriously did not know all JL amps are made in taiwan. I thought the Slash series were made in the US. then again, guidelines says if most of the parts and/or labor was in america, it can be considered made in usa. confusing stuff!!
