Pilot bearing help.. On 88Hf
Im trying to remove the pilot bearing out of my flywheel
but the flywheel is still on the engine. I couldnt take out
the flywheel. I borrowed a tool from autozone but it didnt work.
Do you have to pull it out or pushed out (toward the engine).
Plz anyone help me. Thanks

Just take the flywheel off. You should always get the flywheel turned whenever you replace the clutch anyway. Alot of auto supply shops can do that for you,NAPA,Bumper to Bumper or AutoZone should be able to turn it for you. I think I paid $25 to get mine done.
the pilot bearing had to come out the back of the flywheel
"turning" or "resurfacing" the flywheel is kinda like getting your brake rotors resurfaced when you change brakes. It will take off the top layer of metal on the friction surface so when you install the new clutch/brakes it has a fresh surface to mate with, not one that hte last clutch was tearing up/glazing ect... This will also help breakin.
replace your rear main seal while your flywheel is off, or you will get super pissed when it starts leaking after you put the tranny back on and drive it.
