hey all ;
i have a 90 honda accord with a stuck door. tried everything i could to open it . played with the handle inside and out . with the lock took the door panel out . everything looks like it's in order . but the door still doesn't open .. does anyone know how i can open it . i'm thinking my problem is going to end up being a stuck acctuator. to get to that i have to open the door please help

 

Did you hook the metal piece to the door handle part? I did that last time and i couldnt get myself out when working on my door.

 

i really haven't taken anything other than the door panel off the door .. i looked at all the pieces they all look like they are in place

Pretty common in you model accord. Unfortunately, the only way to get it to open is to remove the door panel and drill the latch out. I run across these quite frequently at the delership. It sucks becouse you have to replace the whole door latch. I'm sure someone can give you insight on how to do it properly at your dealership. Good luck.

 

got it done. after some research and a little help from another poster i opened my door . here's a little info on how to do it . remove the door panel . it's tough with the door closed . but it can be done . after that find the door latch mechanism ( silvery part with white plastic around it ) then measure from the center of the pivot rivet drop down 1 1/16 " and center punch a hole, then drill with a 1/8" drill bit . stop when the bit goes through the first layer.Redrill with a 1/4" bit ,after drilling through the first layer let the bit go further and hit the internal parts of the latch .it should open .if it doesn't insert a flathead screwdriver and move it around alittle it should release the latch

 

I have a 93 Accord with a stuck door. How did you manage to take the panel off with the door closed? Did you have to replace the lock to fix your stuck door problem?
