Default pistons?

ok researching is a pain, so ill just ask yall, my coupe dx has a jdm b16a and compression of the pistons is 11:1 ratio, i do know there aftermarket pistons and are eagle je or the other way around lol...something with eagle but what im wondering is?how much would it cost to lower the compression of my pistons to a suitable compression since im going to turbo charge it with a drag kit?what would be a good number for compression for a vtec turbo car?if anyone's done this to there car, lend me a hand and tell me what you did and how much did it all total out to, thank you

$400 for the set of pistons, $xx for labor.

And I'd go 9.5 : 1 CR, but that's just me. You could even stay with the 11 : 1 you have if you get a good tune.

wow, that's not bad....what do u mean i could stay if i get it tuned....?mind telling me more heh, sorry im very new to cars, tuned at the dyno shop or something else u meant?and by lowering the compression i would lose some hp right?but i'll be gaining more since im turbocharging it?

I wouldnt even try using 11:1 compression with turbo! That is way too dangerous. Look at the forced induction forum, and you will see that only the best of the best would dare use that compression. Most people, including myself, drop it down to 9:1 or so.

lol, if you are going FI (force induction) ALWAYS lower compression, but better yet get pistons that handles both turbo and nos.

11:1 with a turbo would be very stupid, go down to 9:1 or 9.5:1 with a headgasket or pistons, all depends on how much boost you want to run

for a daily driver yes it would be best to drop the compression. but if it was simply a track car i would say boost high compression on a good tune for way better numbers ! its not impossible just more difficult .

ok very interesting facts guys, thanks, i will lower the compression tho....but im still not sure what u meant by lowering it?taking it to the shop to do i assume right?or are you saying get new pistons with lower compression?because if i can just lower pistons without having to buy new ones, that'd be better

You cant lower the cr on your current pistons, you have to either buy new ones or get a headgasket to lower your cr
