Default Crower 404s on turbo LS

Are these cams mainly for all-motor applications on the B18b?

I'm about to buy some, but still undecided on which route to go.

Any suggestions also greatly appreciated.

They're on par with some of the stock B-series VTEC cams. Try em, I think you'll see some big top end gains over 402T's.

I didn't really want to be a guinea pig, but oh well...

I guess I'll throw 'em in and hope for the best. I'll post dyno results after I get them tuned, etc.

I'm hoping for a strong flat torque line all the way to 8,000-8,500.

Even on 402T cars torque is dropping long before 8500. I think the 404's are your only shot. Think about how famous you'll be if you run these and they make filthy power and people are all like woo woo.

The very thought of people chanting "woo woo" is motivation enough.

I would try it for sure, I run Crane 20 cams(bigger than the 404) and it work really well.
402T cams are great for less than 350hp. What your setup?

I have heard good things of the Crower 403's. . . I'm sure the 404's will be good too.

I have heard that both are far superior to the 402t, as mentioned above.

I'd rock em'. . . I'll be sporting 403's, trying to make power to 8.5-9k on the ls is fun

I've seen plenty of dyno charts with LS's making power up to 8.5k and beyond though so I'm sure it is being done.

What kind of headwork do you have?

I'm getting a P&P'd LS head w/ complete Crower valvetrain, new seals, Crower 404 cams, Skunk2 adj cam gears.

I've got a fully built bottom end without sleeves. I'm about to turn up the boost (it's at 4psi right now).

In my living room I've got a TurboXS MBC, TurboSmart 35mm wastegate, RC550cc injectors, GM 3 bar map sensor, and getting the head hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

Going to turn up the boost on my Garrett t3/to4e (63/60) to about 18psi and see what she can do.

I want 400whp and at least 370wtq with a strong and steady torque line to 8,000-8,500.

Damn bro, we're going to be running a very similar setup.

JG Pro Ported Head
Crower 403's /springs/ret
Skunk2 Cam Gears

HX35 w/ 14cm^2 hot side

If yours is running before mine you'll have to keep me posted on how you like the 404's.

I hear they have a nasty idle, but who knows.

I guess I'll find out the old fashioned way... through trial and error.

This is what my cam spec sheet says

308*in/305*ex duration .445in/.434ex lift advertised specs

at .50" 226*in/224*ex duration .254in/.248ex lift

Crower says power from 1100rpm to 8200+rpm.

On a ported head, will the same set of cams make power higer than on an unported head?

Do you know the rocker ratio or lift/duration at the valve? Or is it direct acting?

Thanks!

The LS has an 1.75 rocker ratio.
