Check your wires for the radio...did you hook up the illumination wire? If so disconnect it and see what happens.

Or you probably mixed the illumination wire with teh ground wire on your radio

The dimmer wire shows (-)ground when at rest and +12V when switcehd on

thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>Check the red/black illumination wire at the oem radio harness. What did you do with it, are you using it, [does the HU you installed have an illumination input] ir is it just laying behind the the HU shorting out? Try this, turn the dash dimmer all the way down, then try the fuse, if it does not blow till you turn up the dimmer, then an illumination lead is shorting out some place 94

well guys like i said, i pretty much left all the wiring the same since im using the same deck, i dont think i cut any wires at all, i just unplugged and plugged back in.. and well since its dark now i didnt want to check the wires again, however i put in a new fuse and completely unplugged the dimmer switch and well it blew the fuse right away when i tried to turn on the lights...
tomorrow i will check wires behind the radio again... but if you have any more ideas please let me know..
thanks

thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>If you unplugged the dimmer and it still blew the fuse, I don't think its the illumination wire in the radio harness, unless it is one that is not controlled by the dimmer, lots of cars have an illumination wire that is not controlled by the dimmer, they are only used to dim the readout, as it does not have to be as bright at night, so the illumination wire does not need to be controlled by the dimmer, just by the park light switch, I would still pull the HU and check and see that you haven't just pinched the wire when you put the new HU in. 94
