Fuse for cluster lights keeps blowing out
Okay so my cluster lights to see the cluster when its dark and my climate control lighting went out, so i checked the fuse, it was blown so i replaced it and everything starts working again, i start bumping my subs for like 2 minutes and the same fuse blew out again. i asked the lady at shucks and she said its probaly the ground wire for my amp, my amp isn't even attached to the sub box because it fell off. I'm not sure if that is the problem.

mine kept blowing the same fuse and then i discovered it was the dimmer lead to the head unit was grounding and causing the fuse to blow. pop your deck out and see if you have an exposed wire. Oh and the dimmer wire is usually the orange one.

+++2 The dimmer wire will blow that fuse every time you also should find that you have no rear marker lights

Re: (suno)
so you guys are sure that its my dimmer or something behind the dash, or what is the chances of it being the ground wire? or is it even possible for a bad ground wire to blow a fuse? Because my ground wire is pretty bad.
So basically you guys are sayin the dimmer switch is the problem and i should pop my deck out and check the dimmer wire is is usually the orange one? or how would i check if the dimmer lead to the head unit was grounding?

hmmm.. so the dimmer wire that you guys are talking about is coming from the dimmer switch (right next to the cruise control) which is orange?? because i didnt know that the dimmer wire goes into the deck?

Let me make this easy for you if you put an aftermarket deck in the dimmer wire could be grounding out. Most people install the deck 1 of 2 ways they cut the oem wiring leaving a buch of loose wiring behind the dash to short out. Or the better way they use an after market wiring harness most of the ones that I have used have all the wires prestripped a bit and some decks do not have a dimmer in them so that orange wire dosn't get hooked up it dangles around in the dash you hit a bump it grounds out and blows the fuse for your dash lights. PULL OUT YOUR DECK and INSPECT the wiring I bet that is where your problem is. Make sure to cut the bair wire off and crip a wire cap on the end so it has no way of grounding out again. DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL TAPE IT WILL COME OFF

I never said to cut the wire off I simply told you what wire it was. If it is wired into the deck then you have a deck with an illum circuit in it and should be hooked up I did tell you not to use electrical tape because it comes off . Case an point you have a bair wire in your dash
