now it's NASCARvision

 

i hate nascar. damn speed channel!

 

Guys, go to www.speedvision.com and look at the programming schedules past this week, aka the biggest week in NASCAR, and you will see it isnt NASCAR 24-7. Motorsport Mundial is still there, FIA rally is still there, everything is still there. Unbind thy panties and actually look this stuff up before thinking there is no hope.

Heard a few months back that FOX bought out speedvision and they planned to change it to an all-Nascar channel. I guess it has already begun...

 

You guys really need to read some schedules on their website. THEY STILL HAVE LOTS OF STUFF BESIDES ROUNDY ROUND RACING!!!!!!

 

this comes up constently...it is not that bad. Take for example, the wrc coverage. 1 hour of highlights the evening of each leg plus preview and review = 5 hours of wrc coverage the weekend of the event. Speedvision had 1 hour of highlights 2 weeks after the rally. F1 coverage will have every practice session and qualifying and the race and a review. What do you want? The ITR network? cable channels have bills too and nascar pays the bills so they can have 5 hours of fia coverage a weekend. IMO viva la speedchannel

 

I dont think that the point is that they dont have anything besides NASCAR but that the amount of NASCAR has increases greatly. Last weekend I sat down to watch some SpeedVision on Saturday, which usually consists of Dream Car Garage, Hot Rod Television, AutoWeek TV, ext... and all that was on was Classic NASCAR. I wouldnt mind it they just showed the current races live but why the hell do we have to watch old NASCRAP races.... Just seems like a waste

 

It's only Nascar for this week, or until the Daytona 500 is run. They have cut all the boat stuff tho, but car and bike racing coverage will be better than ever.
Be happy we still have a racing channel.

Speed will still have F-1, Lemans, Sebring, Speed World Challenge, ex. i don't think it will be that bad. Just cross your fingers!

 

I saw a F1 commercial during lunch two days ago, and nearly **** my pants thinking they were going to air an F1 program!

What's the broadcast schedule/situation for the F1 GP races in March?

 

There was an online petition to sign about (4 months ?) ago requesting FOX not to turn speedvision into a predominantly NASCAR station.

I signed it proudly, even though I do not get Speedvision from my cable company.

Unfortunately, NASCAR sells.

 

Online petitions don't do jack. Ratings rule their choices.

 

I agree completely.

If the new Speed channel has more coverage of the FIA and WRC events, then long live the Speed channel. I hate NASCAR myself, so I won't be watching it, but frankly it beats all the info-mercials, marine crap, and hot rod shows, that were on before. I couldn't care less what they show when I'm not watching it. Sounds like my TiVo is going to get a work out on F1 weekends.

Unfortunately, the aim of television companies is to make money, and Nascar makes money. Period

You're just going to have to check the schedule constantly. Be thankful you even have cable because I don't (the local cable company says cable isn't offered at my house - bullsh#t)
