Default How-to GSR Cluster in EG. (Couple things people left out)

I just wired up a 94-97 GSR cluster in my 94 Civic EX (B18C). I used the diagram below and it works just fine. There are a few things people failed to mention that you guys should know:

1. The civic pins won't fit into the gsr plug.
a. Therefore, you must cut the wires on both plugs and reconnect.

2. If you have cruise control and want to keep it
a. Cut the blue/red wire off the green plug and connect to blue/red on gsr plug.

3. Getting the bezel to fit and everything to sit right will take some time. (Hardest part)

Here are some pics of it ... bezel is not complete, but just test drove it and everything works fine. And yes, I know my wiring looks ghetto. It was before I cleaned it all up.

I know how-to's have been posted before, but I just wanted to let people know a couple other things that should be included and also that it's realllllly an easy job. Just scary looking.

Nice job. Yes, I failed to mention that the EG pins are too big for the Integra plugs. Any pics with the bezel in?

Thanks guys. I haven't been able to try trimming the bezel too much. I gotta wait till I'm at work and have better tools for that. I'll let you know how it goes.

yes - you both have horrible looking wiring jobs. Question did you solder your connections or was it a quicky twist and tape job. If so i would recommend going back to resolder amybe ever heat wrap you wiring for a clean look

soldered, but then i got lazy. as long as the wires are secure they will be alright since there's no movement once they get tucked away. the wires were cleaned up and taped up a lil better though. if anything comes apart, im sure u'll know tho. no big deal.

Let's fix the wiring this weekend. I'll bring the cold head soldering iron and some shrink wrap.

I'm going to use your 92-95 civic pinout diagram to help me finish my RSX into 95 eg cluster swap. Couldn't find the highbeam on the civic cluster.

I've been cutting and soldering the wires together, that way I can use either cluster I want to.

edit: you're wiring looks a lot cleaner than the cluster-f*ck going on in my dash.

I even hate large bulges i the heat shrink from too much solder... The thing is I know its there so it has to be perfect for me at least. Oh BTW anyone ever need wiring help in the midwest let me know.

Alarms in particular, and plenty of system/navi installs, then a few motors lol but yea. heat wrap is the best/ electric tape when on budget

Ya, my alarm install wasn't the cleanest job out there. But it was my first big wiring project. Here's a pic, you can see the mess by the fuse box:

That wiring looks rough as hell. I don't have any pics of mine, but its a lot cleaner. Here is the cluster though. You never finished installing yours, your bezel still isn't in.

If you have ever seen the bezel cut it looks like ***. Might as well cut the bezel and fit the cluster in the so its cleaner. You can always replace that stupid outside piece on the cluster anyways. I didn't pay jack for mine either, so it wasn't like I was out much.

looks like my 95 eg i had back in 98 but as long as every thing is functional i guess its all gravy! this one kid i showed how to install an alarm hooked every thing up when he was done he forgot to program his alarm properly well lets just say it was noisy for a while when his car auto armed.locked, while his keys were in drivers seat. Next funny instance is where some one felt they didnt need any protection for wiring while wiring an engine and melted some o2 wires he had run , and his vtec wires he ghetto rigged in so no vtec and a a nasty smell with some cels ! oh well we all learn through experience
