Tranny has no neutral!!! (I know it does but I can't find it)
I just finished up a B16A 2nd gen swap into my 95 CX. I installed the shift linkage today, and turned her on (still don't have axles in yet, just bare transmission if it makes a difference). I can put the shifter in what I think is neutral, but the speedo still climbs to like 10kmph. Is this normal if there are no axles connected = no resistance at all on the tranny....? Or should I just bring it to my mechanic and have him fix it? I have no clue what's wrong.
well for one, i dont think its good to start it up without axles, cause that means u have no tranny fluid, and if your speed is going up to 10mph that means your gears are moving somehow WITHOUT FLUID. you probably didnt install the shift linkage right, where did u get the shift linkage from? what car?
I filled it with transmission fluid. And it doesn't leak when I turn it on. I just filled it with 10w30 oil until I get it really running then I'll use Honda MTF. I got the linkage supplied with the engine from the same company. The linkage however was brand new and aftermarket, but supposedly identical to the B-series linkage I need. I mean it installed fine, everything lined up good underneath.

thats normal. Its because you have no axles on. Even if you have axles on it will still spin slightly its just theres no weight so its spinning and reading 10mph. Once axles and all are on it wont be able to spin and read zero. You have neutral

Absolutly correct, also make sure the wheels are on the ground, with no resistance just the input shaft turning the syncros or whatever will turn the other shaft even tho they spin freely. put the axels in and put her on the ground and youll be good to go
