Default How to make the car run on 87?

I got a gas card from work but can only buy 87 oct .

Can I "detune" it to run 87? or just pay for gas

I already got blue in the face and fought for 93 but its not working. I threatened to get a h2 but that didn't work either.

Fill it up w/ 87 & run octane booster.

Oh, and charge the octane booster on the card as well.

I think you have to pull the 2 and 3 plug wires so the "octane" accumulates in the other cylinders ...

Retard the timing and never go into VtaK and you'll be fine.

That's a hell of a price to pay for free gas though...

so if u dont mind me asking...whats wrong with running 87 octane on an R??? i would understand that yes it is a higher quality engine and a higher octane fuel should be used but i dont see what would be wrong with using 87 octane...not like it would have any serious effects on the engine or anything right?

knock sensors, premature detonation, etc.

It'll run but not real good or even close to optimally.

Can you put 93 octane in the tank and pay the difference? I think that would be fair. And no I would not run the 87 it will ping like a son of a bitch not to mention the detonation.

there's a reason that it says "premium fuel only". i don't want to know the consequences of putting in 87.

Invest in a 55-gallon drum of toluene.

Or run 87 and kiss your ring-lands goodbye.

I'd give the gas card to a family member who has a vehicle that can run on 87.

how would anyone know what gas you'll be using and why would that part matter? if anything, it should be a set spending limit.. so instead of getting more gallons of 87 for $20, you just get less gallons of 93 and pay for the rest yourself.. that gas card thing doens't make sense.
