Skunk2 Short Shifter Questions
Hi, I just received my Skunk2 Short Shifter/****/ES Bushings from Robear Racing
but I didn't get the bushings
. I am still going to install without the bushings, is that a smart idea? I'll install the bushings when I get them which is in a few days. Now on with the questions...The shifter came with hardware, what order do these go in and also on which side? BTW, I searched but didn't find a thread with a working picture. Also, which is the proper way to install the shifter, with the top bend toward you or away? Here are a couple of pics of the hardware, is this the right order?

Is this the way the shifter should be installed?

Thanks, any help is appreciated

I would suggest installing the shifter and bushings together. Why go down there twice when you can do it altogether. There was a DIY thread but I can't seem to find it at the moment...
I never used a skunk2 shifter but I assume the bend portion (in the second picture closest to the skunk2 sticker) should be closest to the driver.
Good luck with the install

I would wait until you get the bushings to install everything. There's no point to do the work twice in the same week.
The shifter orientation is correct assuming the left side of the picture faces the front of the car. The shifter bends towards the back of the car, then back up.

yea i installed mine it was tight, but the bend goes toward you(i learned the hard way when i had to go under and turn i the other way and a friend at the shop told me i put it on the with the bending facing the dash, but you really cant tell a difference untill you start driving it, so put it on right lol) and i didnt know how to put the harware so i just put the shifter between the two washers and i dont think the bushings matta i've had mine for a good 3months and works great just make sure u use white grease on the ball part..
I also recommend waiting and doing it at the same time. Also there is a FAQ thread sticky post there was these that might help you.

i believe you're suppose to use all the hardware or why else would skunk2 put it in the packaging?

From the second one you see that tube in the middle? I believe that goes into the shifter hole then the washers go on the sides. And then you tighten.

That shifter is for an Integra or a Civic. You use that spacer in the linkage with the wider end. So, if it doesnt fit in your civic one....you use the spacer so it will. Not that hard.
