No rust crx!
I found a crx with no rust on it, and i'm gonna put alot of $ into the paint.
What can I do to make sure that it won't ever rust? do you think that there could be rust behind the weld on the rear quarter?
Hopefully you understand what i'm saying....

check under the rocker panels, remove the plastic, if everything checks out, alot of old skool guys here recommend using oil in the wheel arches and stuff. really messy but works really well

No rust on a ride on the East Coast, come ooooonnnn you gotta be kiddin! Try the oil solution that other lads have mentioned here, just get a large brush or something and throw on the oil and your good to go.

To answer your question on how to stop it from rusting, i have 90 si that i picked up from South carolina in 00. I live in pittsburgh and my trick is i have never driven it in the snow. If it never see salt it wont rust.

another way i have tried is putting oil in the quarter panel from the inside, it slows it down but my 94 GSR is still rusting back there anyways.

To answer your question about welds you should look into the Weld/Fabrication section of H-T. I would say if they used Weld-Thru primer you should be good if they left it bare metal then it could very well rust again.
Yea rust can be a pain in the ***.
Currently my CRX has been in the bodyshop for 7 months
partially my fault cuz first knock off Mugen kit and CF hood i bought from Importfan.com didnt fit (kit was off by like 3 or 4 inches in some spots) and CF hood was all warped (DONT BUY FROM IMPORTFAN.COM).
My bodyshop basically cut out my rear fenders (inner and outter), front and rear rocker panels and replaced it all with new sheet metal. And i'm spending a pretty penny on this resto job.
I remember seeing on Speed channel on that 2 Guys Garage show a device you run from your battery then to the chasis that somehow charges the metal so rust cant form on it...Ill try to do some research, looks like it might work.
And i live in Nj... We get the worst of everything
-Harsh winters
-Summers can suck with no AC
and THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
