Default A/C leak. What should low pressure side read

I have a 91 Honda Accord, lx. I wanted A/c for my trip from NY to UT so I took it in to have it repaired. I changed the condenser before he filled it. He told me it was working and that I could pick it up. I tried the A/C and it didnt work. He put the machine on and said it should have 30 psi on the low side. It still wasnt cold. In missouri I decided to fill it. An aquantance told me the the low side pressure should be about the temperature of the day. I filled it to 55 psi and it really started getting cold. What is the pressure suppose to be on this model accord. I have searched everywhere and cannot find it. Thanks.

Can't help you there, you can always check a manual...... and if you don't have one, get one. They are lifesavers

no no no if you overfill the system you can blow seals, and most newer cars are pressure sensitive: if you overfill the system it will not work.

55 psi should be perfect.

woooooooooooooo the temperature of the day????? no no no ..and 55 psi on low side is too high ..........should be around 20-35 ..depends on humidity and ambient temper they have an effect on it as well .your system capacity is 30-32 ozs

So The thermal expansion valve is in the evaporator. I know that fun to take out (ya Right). I think Ill change it and refill my system. I have had so many people tell me all different pressures. Thanks. Ill see what happens.
