Leak from A/C Pressure Port - Low Side after R134a recharge - 1999 Accord LX, 4cyl
1999 Accord LX Sedan
4 Cyl, 135,000 Miles
It's been warm lately and the AC hasn't been blowing as cold. The system has never had a recharge. I bought the kit with the hose, quage and can of R134a. I checked the pressure and I was around 25 Psi or so. I removed the connector from the car without problem. I hooked up the can, hooked the hose assembly back onto the car and started putting the R134a in. The pressure climbed within range and the temp of the air blowing from the vent dropped.
Here is my problem. When I removed the connector from the car the pin in the low side valve that gets pushed down will not fully seat. It was sputtering with air and some R134a. I was able to pull the pin up with a small pair of needle nose pliers and now it hisses a little air. I put the dust cap on and can't hear anything.
- Anyone had this issue before? If so what was the fix?
- Is my O-ring bad where that pin sits? If so do I need a whole new assembly?
- Is the dust cap suppose to be the final part of the sealing equation?

there is a tool for tightening that schrader valve.
But it could be the valve needs changed, to seal gets flat from being shoved against it's seat.
