#013 is finally modded after 5 years...
Finally after driving #013 for almost 5 years this coming november, she is finally modded for some fun. I've driven the car very spiritedly throughout these past years and I have found that the car just needed some slight mods to compliment the already great handling and power from the factory. This is my daily driver for now so high hp is not my goal for the time being. After months of debating on how I wanted to go with the rebuild of the stock 96000 mile motor, I finally ended up just staying close to home but with some added umph...
The list:
b18c5 bottom end
stock head
jdm itr pistons std
toda camgears
mugen headgasket
mugen thermostat
mugen thermoswitch
denso iridiums
fitz modified throttle body
fitz modified cai
toda clutch
toda flywheel
new honda topend gasket kit
new honda bottom end gasket kit
new honda timing, ps and alternator belts
new honda headstuds
new honda engine mounts
tein flex
stockies with azenis sports
Soon to come:
Mugen MF10's 16x7 - in talks with two people, one bronze and one in silver. Time will tell...
toda 4-1 header
mugen twinloop cat back
bigger sway bars
engine mounts or inserts
em c-pillar brace
Yeah I know the mods are very mild in comparison to what other's have posted but I've been hangingout on this board since 2002 and thought i'd share my old new joy...
Just picked up my car this afternoon at 2 and I have to say that I can definately feel a stronger motor than what I had almost 5 years ago. I started this rebuild/modding due to some high daily consumption of oil, a tasty smoke at wot, and heavy oil deposits on my rear bumper. I didn't have to do a comp test to know that its about time for a rebuild...
50 miles on this new motor so far and I still have a long ways to learn of the new driving dynamics of this car. Its like a totally different car alltogether, that you have to learn its new boundaries and limits. Actually quite excited for another 96000+ plus miles on this motor... I'm hoping to take this to Expo next year and to some other events with you guys.
Pics to come
Special thanks to:
Mike at IPS. You probably don't know who the **** you were talking to but I have gained a lot of information out of you and a lot of great advice in this build. LOL. Thank you stranger. Beers up to you.
Steve and Tony at InlineFour. Many many thanks for putting up with my orders and my calls for what I needed. Steve I want those mugens, BADLY. And thanks for the great advise and customer service.
John and Dave at Crown Acura in Clearwater Florida for the great work on my car. Thanks for the brandnew Milano Red TSX loaner for 5 days. Love the XM and the interior of that car John.
And last but not least, my brother Fitz for handing me the keys to the ITR. Certainly way better than my 2000 SI and a monthly well spent. Thanks for introducing me to a hobby that I certainly probably wouldn't have picked up by myself. I've had a great time modding the cars with you since 1996 and have learned so much from you and on your previous cars.
And to my mom for putting up with my bullshit with this car HAHA and for helping me in life...
I also got some great help and advice from people on this website and i'm sorry for not remembering your usernames but many many thanks for your helpful advise...

As of right now just stock ecu. Depending on the funds in the next few weeks and months will determine the course of what ems I will use.

you must have paid out the ying for the dealer to do all that or you have a hookup.

I met you before scooter. Gandy a long time ago. I was with Dave (cw itr) and I was the asian in the py (not much fat asians driving a py in tampabay area haha)...
Hookup LOL. Competively priced to some shops around town. Just a tad bit more but its also warrantied for a year or 12000 miles, whichever comes first...
